Rahim ABDUL

PhD Student

BSc. Biology | Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

About

Rahim obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2023 from NTU, majoring in Biological Sciences with a second major in Biomedical Structural Biology. During his undergraduate studies he sought opportunities to research novel chaperone derivatives against deposits implicated in corneal dystrophies at NTU and investigate the effect of selected type 2 diabetes-associated coding variants on protein structure & functions at Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) | A*STAR, encouraging his interest in the study of metabolic diseases.

Project

At Thibault lab, his primary research interest is investigating the contributions of host ER stress and UPR alterations in highly chronic diabetic ulcers harbouring Enterococcus infections. Outside of the lab, he enjoys painting, collecting and listening to vinyl records.
